If you are in the mood to venture outside Guangzhou for the day, one of the top destinations is Foshan as it is approximately 45 minutes away. The city is famous for being the birthplace of Chinese martial arts and ceramic art, while also boasting plenty of natural beauty. Among the many attractions, Mount Xiqiao is well worth a visit as it is an extinct volcano that is home to a giant Guan Yin Buddha statue, which sits right at the summit.
