Travel to Belgium

A fairly small European nation with big ambitions and plenty of character, Belgium boasts delectable chocolate and beer, has a thriving diamond industry, and is home to a plethora of stately castles.

Reasons to Visit Belgium

The charming Belgian capital of Brussels has many places of interest, including the beautiful and elegant Grand Place (Main Square), Saint-Michel Cathedral, Koningsplein Royal Palace, and the contemporary sculpture of Atomium. The city has several quirky gems too, such as the fountains of Mannekin Pis, Jeanneke Pis, and Zinneke Pis, the murals along Comic Strip Route, and the eerie Museum of Radiology. In addition to Brussels’ endless culture, architecture, and history, it is also incredibly connected via rail and motorways to other cities throughout Belgium and Europe.

Beyond Brussels

A short rail ride from Belgium’s capital, Ghent combines the old and new, with a medieval core and plenty of modern attractions. Fifty minutes north, Antwerp has a myriad of attractions, including the MAS Museum, the Royal Museum of Fine Arts, and the Grote Markt. Delightful Bruges, located an hour west, is the perfect place to unwind. Take a boat trip on its canals, explore its bar scene, and admire terrific vistas from the Belfry. Ypres, home to historical war sites, lively Leuven and medieval Mechelen are other top destinations to explore within two hours from Brussels.
