The stunning Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park lies 120km to the south of the city, boasting the towering volcanic Mount Bromo overlooking East Java. If you wish to climb the volcano, there are numerous tours available to the park that will also take you to the beautiful Penanjakan viewpoint – a perfect spot for sunrise photographs.
