Upon your arrival in Beijing

A brief introduction to Beijing

One of China’s ancient capital cities, Beijing is steeped in heritage, culture, and historical landmarks, including five UNESCO World Heritage sites.

Start your journey by exploring some of the capital’s most popular attractions, such as the Forbidden City, Summer Palace, Temple of Heaven, Ming Tomb, and Grand Canal. The iconic Great Wall of China is also a must-visit and can be reached in approximately 2 hours by taxi from the city centre.

In the east of the city, you will find The Sanlitun area, which is home to trendy bars and upscale restaurants serving delicious food and cocktails. In the south of the city, Qianmen Street is a retail paradise, and the perfect location to pick up an authentic souvenir. Near Qianmen Street, you can find one of Beijing’s most famous buildings - the National Centre for the Performing Arts.

We also recommend strolling through Beijing’s “hutongs” (residential alleyways) to discover a more intimate side of the city and its small antique markets and quieter parks.
