    Art in our lounges

Step into a space where human-centric design meets meaningful artworks.

Unwind before your flight by retreating to one of our signature lounges. It’s the ideal place to sink into an armchair and sip on your drink of choice - and admire thoughtfully curated artworks from our ever-growing collection.

    The Bridge, Hong Kong

The Bridge is beloved for its signature dishes, convenient location and thoughtful design, with works by artists with deep connections to Hong Kong conveying the beauty of our home city and beyond.

    Beijing Capital International Airport

Our redesigned Beijing lounge blends residential comfort and warm hospitality. Works by artists with close ties to Hong Kong and Beijing reference our roots while giving the lounge a sense of place.

    Chui Pui Chee

Commissioned for the lounge entrance, Chui Pui Chee’s calligraphic work renders the characters “翱翔” in shimmering ink. Translated as “soaring” in English, the piece captures Cathay’s transcendent Move Beyond spirit.

    Xu Lei

Inspired by 19th-century cartography, World Cloud by Beijing-based artist Xu Lei is a map-like painting of towering mountains beneath pink and blue clouds rendered in different cultural styles. This work is the centrepiece of one of the enclosed spaces in our lounge.

    William Lim

Artist and architect William Lim’s boarding pass drawings are displayed as a set in the main lounge area. Depicting scenic tourist spots and views from aircraft windows, these quickly sketched drawings freeze moments from Lim’s travels.

    Zhang Yanzi

Beijing-based artist Zhang Yanzi has created a pair of ink-on-paper works, collectively titled The Genetic Lottery No. 1. Consisting of rows of coloured dots inspired by the variation of human irises, the works advocate for equality in spite of visible differences.

    Shekou Cruise Home Port

Our first ferry port lounge is situated at a gateway to the Greater Bay Area. Take a break and enjoy breathtaking sea views complemented by artworks inspired by the water.

    William Furniss

Photographer William Furniss is fascinated with bodies of water, capturing the ways that light dances on its surface. In Water Reflections, blue-green waves glint in a way that evokes molten metal.

    13RUGS

German brand 13RUGS produces custom wool carpets using sustainable methods. Crafted from upcycled Cathay Pacific cabin seat upholstery, Rug (Harbour Lights) is a two-metre-wide wall textile with bands of yellow and magenta against a sea of blue.

    Meet the curator

We sought the expertise of a respected figure in the art world to help curate the collections at The Bridge and our Beijing lounge.
