Our program is available to both current students and recent graduates as long as they are aged 31 or below before the date of departure. In addition, the flight ticket must originate and be issued in Sri Lanka. Only flights booked by the 31 March 2025 are eligible.

Using the code LKSTUDENT, students may be eligible for a fare discount of up to 10% when purchasing Economy Class plane tickets flying from Colombo to international destinations in China (Including Hong Kong), Korea, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, the United States, and Canada. Travellers who are eligible for this program will also be allowed special flight change fees and special checked baggage allowances depending on the fare type.

Flights booked with discount code LKSTUDENT are eligible to fly to destinations in Hong Kong, China, Korea, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, United States and Canada. Passengers flying from Colombo can enjoy up to 10% off on Economy Class one way flights. As long as you are eligible for our Global Student Fare program, the discount code will allow you to travel to any destinations covered by Cathay Pacific. 

Only flights that depart between the 2nd of April 2024 to the 31st of December 2025 are eligible for the discounts offered by our Global Student Fare program. 

As long as you meet the criteria for the Global Student Fare program, you can book one-way tickets from Sri Lanka with Cathay Pacific as long as you are travelling to one of the eligible destinations. 

While our discounted student fares are available only for one-way flights, additional baggage allowances are granted for both one-way and return fares. For more information, please refer to our terms and conditions . 

Passengers can take 1 piece of cabin baggage (weighing 7kg and under) onboard. For international flights from Colombo with student offers to the USA or Canada, passengers can bring 1 extra piece of checked baggage so long as the total weight of the baggage is 23kg or less (with the Essential fare type). To all other destinations, passengers can also take 1 extra piece of checked baggage onboard the aircraft if the total weight is 23kg or less (with Flex fare type).

The process for changing and cancelling discounted flights can be done through Manage Booking . You can choose to rebook your flights by choosing the “Change or cancel your flight” option.

When booking with the student discount code, you will be asked to present one or more of the following items. Without any of the following, you may be subjected to paying the difference in fares for your flight.

- A valid student ID card or acceptance letter

- International Student Identity Card (ISIC)

- Proof of student visa
