    Learn about our different fare classes, each providing varied levels of flexibility and privileges for your journey with us.

    What are fare classes?

    Your fare class is a letter assigned to your ticket, and each fare class comes with its own set of benefits and flexibility. It will determine your baggage allowance, the option to select your seat in advance, the number of Asia Miles and Status Points you’ll earn and more.

    Your fare class also determines your eligibility for potential upgrades using Asia Miles or other carrier miles programmes. Please note that not all codeshare (non-Cathay Pacific) flights are eligible for upgrades.

    • 1 Cathay members may enjoy additional baggage allowance according to their member status. Please refer to our Baggage information page for more details.
    • 2 For journeys between Hong Kong and New Zealand, please visit our Baggage information page for more details. For flights with the ultimate ticketed origin/ destination within the U.S. or Canada, please refer to Baggage information carrier rules page for more details.
    • 3 Cathay members may enjoy free seat pre-selection according to their member status. For passengers traveling with a child or an infant, please visit our Reserve your seat page for more details.
    • 4 Applicable to flights marketed and operated by Cathay Pacific only and subject to availability.
    • 5 The fee charged for flight change or cancellation and no-show will vary based on your fare type (with lower costs for a higher fare type in general). Fees are subject to change without prior notice.
    • 6 Fees may apply for selected countries/regions and are subject to change without prior notice. You can find the exact amount when purchasing the ticket online or by contacting Customer Care or your travel agent.
    • 7 Status Points and miles accrual will vary based on fare type and fare class. You can use our Status Points and Asia Miles calculator to see how many Status Points and miles you can earn for a particular journey.
