1) Can someone else buy a student ticket for me?

•  Yes. Tickets may be purchased by anyone, including parents, guardians, or friends. While the identity of the person paying for or booking the ticket does not affect eligibility, student eligibility applies only to the traveling passenger, who must satisfy the verification criteria. However, student must log in with their own Cathay membership account and correctly link their membership number during booking to receive the additional miles.

2) Do I need to use my own Cathay membership account to book?

· For general Global Student Fare: No. Anyone can complete the booking as mentioned above in FAQ 1.

• For bonus miles campaigns: Yes. The student must log in with their own Cathay membership account and correctly link their membership number during booking to receive the additional miles.

3) Are there any age restrictions for student fares?

• No age restriction applies as long as the traveler can provide valid student documentation, such as an ISIC (International Student Identity Card) or other accepted proof of student status.

4) How long is the student fare product available?

• The student fare product is offered on an ongoing basis. Its validity remains in effect until formally amended or withdrawn.

5) Can an acceptance letter be used as proof of student identity?

• Yes. Eligible students must provide valid proof of student identity, which may include:
  •  International Student Identity Card (ISIC)
  • Student ID card or student number
  • Admission or acceptance letter issued by the education institution

6) Does “eligible students” mean overseas students, local students, or both?

• The offer is available to full-time and part-time students, regardless of their study location. This means students enrolled in an education institution accredited by an organization recognized by a relevant government authority - whether the institution is local or overseas - are eligible, provided they meet the verification requirements at the time of their first international departure.

7) How do I confirm that my student identification is linked to my booking?

• Passengers who purchase a Cathay Pacific student fare ticket must present valid proof of student identity at airport check-in for verification.

If passengers are unable to present the required proof of student status upon request, but wish to travel on the same flight, they will need to purchase a new non-student fare ticket, which is subject to seat availability. Passenger may apply for a refund on the fully or partially unused Student Fare ticket, subject to the applicable refund charges (if any).}
